Our new show for summer 2026 was our fifth performance in Leeds Playhouse's Bramall Rock Void Studio Theatre; created by our 'Big Drama Club' group.

For this, one of our most ambitious shows (and longest!), our cast and crew are worked very hard to create a tip-top show of comedy, dance, drama and magic. The play was set in a school for comedy and performing arts, where Keith Smile is the new clowning and comedy teacher; and it's his first day. And he is having a terrible time getting lost around the school, being harassed by the pupils, losing his lunch and being very unpopular with Mizz Bull, the head of the school. It might be sacked before he's even got going!
Bright Sparks Theatre Company are a majority Learning Disabled company based in Leeds. For this show, "Smile!", we had a core cast of over twenty, supported by a staff team of ten. More than thirty people on stage can be tough to manage, but as we closer to showtime, everyone really pulled together as a cohesive unit; and delivered a show that made people laugh; and cry! We're so proud of everyone involved.
SMILE! School of Comedy and Performing Arts ... a place where having a laugh is a serious business.
