Lockdown Breakout is a simplified version of Dungeons & Dragons, and to be clear, it is not a video game! We gather a group on Zoom and by using our imaginations enter a fantasy world; with quests to find, other characters to meet, evil monsters to defeat and treasure to loot.
We are combining our tried and tested theatre-based style games with a fantasy story game, in which the participants create characters who move the story forward through their ideas, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Dice are rolled in the game, to determine the outcomes of their actions, such as a battle with a goblin or a leap over a pit.
We call the players/actors in the game ‘Questors’. They will need to work in a team, make notes and express their ideas clearly. Participants must be 16 years-old or over to take part and will need a tablet or laptop and a reliable internet connection.
For people who feel that they would like a more passive role, we also welcome Followers and Watchers, who are not part of the main adventuring team but can contribute to creating the fantasy atmospheres in the story, cheer the Questors and boo their enemies!
The sessions take place on Zoom every Tuesday from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
