Our second collaboration with First_Floor built on the success of the first, with the team creating an island adventure based around the novel. Over several weeks we created and mapped out our very own “Wild Cat Island”, which was crawling with pirates, gold, a lot of danger and a lot of fun.
The blend of visual arts and performance arts was a key factor in the project, allowing a broader collaboration with First_Floor team members, as well as allowing our participants more choice of learning activities. This also allowed a ‘promenade’ style of performance (again in the main space at First_Floor) combining the many artworks created in the process, which acted as a kind of ‘interactive scenery’, plus the rehearsed and scripted story of ‘Wild Cat Island’… or at least our version of it!
